Gaziantep, Türkiye – Köksan Holding has launched a major investment in a new r-PET resin production facility with a capacity of 300 metric tons per day and 110,000 metric tons annually. Utilizing advanced chemical depolymerization technology, the facility will produce both bottle-grade and textile-grade r-PET resin, supporting a fully circular recycling process.
The new plant, scheduled to become operational in 2024, is expected to contribute approximately USD 100 million annually to Türkiye’s economy by reducing import dependency while strengthening the country’s recycling infrastructure.

The new facility will recycle post-consumer PET bottles into their original monomers using chemical depolymerization, enabling the production of high-quality r-PET resin suitable for repeated recycling. The project will initially operate with 25% recycled content, with plans to increase this to 50% and ultimately 100%.
POLYTEX has been selected as the engineering and technology partner responsible for the design and supply of critical equipment for the project.
Supporting Global Sustainability Goals
In addition to serving existing customers in the food packaging sector, the facility will also produce recycled PET materials for the textile industry.
Approximately 50% of the production will serve the domestic market, while the remaining 50% will be exported to Europe, helping multinational customers achieve their sustainability and circular economy objectives.
